During Cuaresma (Lent) most of the fountains in La Antigua are decorated with beautiful flowers. Here are some I've managed to photograph.
This one is near the entrance to La Antigua from Guatemala city.
This one is across the street from the church of Nuestra Senora de los Remedios Escuela de Christo. How's that for a mouthful. Imagine, we thought Ss. John and Paul Catholic Church was a long name. By the way, most people refer to the church as Escuela de Christo (School of Christ).
This, of course, is the Fountain of the Sirens in Parque Central. Notice that the flowers do not impede the normal action of the sirens.
I'll post more fountain flower pictures as I find them.
