Sunday Mass

On our way back from the basketball game, we stopped by the church of San Francisco El Grande to check the Mass schedule for Sunday.

This year, the schedule includes all the major churches still holding services. What will be difficult is deciding when to go.

6:00 am - San Jose Cathedral and La Merced
6:30 am - San Francisco El Grande
8:00 am - San Jose Cathedral and San Francisco El Grande
9:00 am - La Merced
10:00 am - San Jose Cathedral and San Francisco El Grande
11:00 am - La Merced
Noon - San Francisco El Grande and Escuela de Christo
12:15 pm - San Jose Cathedral
4:00 pm - El Calverio
4:30 pm - San Francisco El Grande
6:00 pm - Escuela de Christo
6:30 pm - San Jose Cathedral
7:00 pm - La Merced

This gives us twenty choices between Saturday evening and Sunday. In addition, we live just off of Calle de Los Pasos, on which San Francisco El Grande, Escuela de Christo and El Calvario are located. Not included are the churches in the surrounding villages.

By the way, most Masses we've attended here in Guatemala have been very well attended.
