McDonalds?

La Antigua is home to one of the most amazing McDonalds I've ever seen. The outside, like most buildings in La Antigua isn't much to look at.

Once you step in, however, you're faced with an impressive ordering area. By the way, if your order isn't ready immediately, they will suggest that you take what is ready and find a place to sit and they will bring your extra items as soon as they are ready.

To the left of the order area is the McInternet area. If you buy a combo meal, you get 30 minutes of free Internet access on the McComputers. That was a draw for us in 2007, but now that we have our laptops and Internet access in our casita, we no longer have need for it.

Almost all large open courtyards in La Antigua have fountains and McDonalds is no exception.

Inside is a wall mounted búcharo. Folks who don't have the space for a free-standing fountain, often install these. McDonalds has both.

Back out in the patio area, you can see the lower slopes of Volcán Agua. Bet your favorite fast food restaurant doesn't have a patio where you can see a volcano.

While we were at McDonalds, I ran into an old friend of mine. He goes by the name Ronnie.

For those times when it's raining or threatening rain, there are covered outddor dining areas.

Adjacent to the covered outdoor dining area is a very nice McCafé.

Here's my final question for you. Does your favorite fast food restaurant have a patron saint? Meet Hermano Pedro, St. Peter of St. Joseph Betancur.
